Get to know Lauren...
Lauren was introduced to yoga as a teenager, when she would sit on her parents' bed and watch her mom practice with Bikram yoga videos. As a businesswoman who was constantly pouring from an empty cup to support others, she found solace in her yoga practice and shared that gift with Lauren.
After years of competitive soccer and ice hockey, Lauren started practicing yoga to find stillness and stray away from her natural busy-body tendencies. Over a decade later, yoga has continued to serve as a remedy for stress and vehicle for mindfulness. Her goal is to make yoga accessible and welcoming to all, whether that be working professionals like herself looking for a break from bottomless to-do lists, people in underserved communities who cannot typically afford yoga, the least flexible student in class, and everyone in between.
Lauren works to expand the accessibility of yoga to the uninsured and those in underserved neighborhoods in Chicago through her teaching at CommunityHealth West Town and Yoga Gardens / Beach Yoga Chicago, respectively. Lauren earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification from yogaview and considers herself a perpetual student of yoga.
