Get to know Julia...
I first came to yoga around 2009, but it wasn't until 2013 when I moved to Chicago without any connections that I experienced yoga's ability to both ground and uplift me.
As a first year teacher in Chicago Public Schools, my yoga mat and the community I found at yoga classes was my refuge. As my practice deepened, I noticed the effects in my body's ability to support me physically, but also the mind-body-breath connection that was able to center me on and off the mat. In my classroom. I integrated mindfulness practices into my teaching and began teaching kids yoga in 2014 and in 2015 I discovered acroyoga, which introduced me to a community of yogis who love to play and connect and communicate through yoga.
After years of practice, I completed my 200 hour teacher training at Yogaview in 2016. In my classes, I am passionate about mindful cueing, correct alignment, creating space for students to connect to their breath and turn inwards, and bringing a sense of ease and joy to the mat!
